Inspired by Terence McKenna who was an American philosopher, psychonaut, ethnobotanist, lecturer, and author. He spoke and wrote about a variety of subjects, including theoretical origins of human consciousness. We are living in a more ego - driven, consumerist society than ever before. We are addicted to 'things' and continuously reminded of the destruction of our ecosystem and resources as a result of operating in this consumer capitalist way. This print reminds us to act and live more consciously and not give into the modern distractions
Text : See, I think what’s happened is that the very top of the culture is profoundly intellectually bankrupt. There is no plan except to keep peddling ‘stuff’, basically until the forests are gone and the oceans polluted. This is not malevolent, it’s simply that they are clueless. They have run out of steam, and so the answer is trying to keep the game going as long as possible , with daytime TV , with casino gambling,
with lotteries , with endless distractions , with pop culture fads, with cults of celebrity, with spectacular trials , and gorey mass murders, and endless circuses. The people at the top are saying ‘Sooner or later; shit is going to hit the fan, sooner or later the dam will burst. It terrifies some people , it liberates others, it's the same reality'
