Sustainability Practices

Pre-Orders & Limited Edition Styles

früjunk is a zero-waste focused brand that operates on pre-ordering basis only, meaning that over production is not possible and no unwanted product goes to landfill. Each item is only ever printed on demand which reduces both material and ink waste and is overall better for the planet. Designs are produced in small Ltd Edition runs as I am passionate about producing in small quantities. If a product is in high enough demand, you might see it come back , but it's best to pre - order to avoid disappointment.

Both environmental and social impacts were taken into consideration during the sourcing process. früjunk will only work with trusted suppliers that share the same views and standards and who also have world-wide recognised certifications when it comes to sustainability and ethical requirements. Full transparency is extremely important between supplier , brand and customer.

My main supplier runs a pro-active social responsibility programme as a member of the Fair Wear Foundation. All the Company’s manufacturing facilities are regularly audited for social compliance and are running active monitoring programmes in accordance with standards advocated by the International Labour Organisation, the Ethical Trading Initiative and other international bodies. Garment manufacturing is one of the most environmentally damaging and harmful industrial sectors on the planet, and my garment supplier also takes decisive and often pioneering steps towards addressing the many negative impacts of this industry when it comes to sustainable manufacturing, yarns & fabrics and carbon footprint reduction.

All garments sourced are made from either 100% Organic cotton , or recycled cotton/polyester blends.

  • Quality Cotton Only
The EarthPositive® range is produced exclusively from 100% organic Indian cotton. Using zero chemicals & pesticides , the entire production process is controlled and certified in accordance with the latest version of GOTS , meaning you can rest assured that it has been processed organically from seed to finished product.
100% of the EarthPositive® production undergoes annual audits to comply with the FWF Code of Labour Practices to ensure it is manufactured ethically. It is made in manufacturing facilities powered by green renewable energy, from low-impact raw materials. It has also been calculated that a single EarthPositive® T-shirt saves around 7 kilograms of CO2e compared to a conventional T-shirt

  • The Salvaged Stuff!
Salvaged products are made from 100% recycled materials. Made using salvaged cuttings from organic cotton textile production, the pieces are shredded and turned back into soft cotton fibres. Fibres made from locally recycled plastic bottles are then added to obtain the cotton and polyester blend. The blended fibres are then spun into fine yarn to make fabrics to sew as a final garment. Salvage labelled garments are certified under the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) and the Organic Content Standard (OCS). Every salvaged sweatshirt contains fibres from 12 plastic bottles - which is pretty deadly!

I use both water-based and plastisol inks. All plastisol inks are both phthalates and PVC free. I expose , and reclaim my own screens and reuse and recycle ink where possible.
